I purchased this shoes as well as a pair of Mizuno's wave alchemy 8 because I am an underpronator and I had tried Asics before, but I was getting blisters under the arch.



Therefore, this review lets me compare the Brooks face to face with mizunos.



First, the bads.

Just getting both pairs out of the box, you can see the difference in materials. Brooks are more stiff and not as soft as the other. I didnt like the fact that I need to run with socks to my ankle because if not, you get friction on the back side of the shoe. Also, both shoes were size 10 but the Brooks fit very tight, not as other shoes Ive had, so there is not much space for the foot. I guess in longer runs, that could be a problem.



Now, on the good side.

They did the job of giving me very good support, I have tried them on several 5-10k trails and they seem to be confortable, (but tight), they dont give me arch blisters and the best of all, my legs dont hurt at the end. So I think I will be using them for shorter runs and see how they behave over the weeks.

Like these shoes! One thing to note is that they have a narrow foot bed - Maybe its a style thing, but they seem narrower in the arch-to-heel area than many sandals I've worn. Not too narrow in the toe area though, so its OK.

This shoe is very comfortable. I purchased it in the brown and the black. The thong is comfortable and doesn't provide any discomfort in between the toes. I couldn't believe the sale price for these shoes. I will say they ran a size small. I always go up a size when I order thong sandals to provide extra room and comfort. I wish I would have purchased all the colors but I didn't and now sizes are very limited. It is very hard to find a solid black and brown sandal without any hardware on it so this purchase was a wonderful find! Amazon always provides excellent customer service and great sales!

Purchased the shoes for my daughter who plays high school volleyball. She was very pleased. The shoes are very light weight and seem to provide good support. It did surprise me that the uppers are a very open nylon mesh almost like a window screen. It's not a problem and I'm sure it makes the shoes both lighter and cooler but I've never seen that design in a shoe before.

Ordered these for 10 year old daughter (has a wide foot) after trying them on at Dillard's and wanted an unavailable color. The shoe fit length wise (size 7); but, was slightly stretched across arch to the sides at area behind front strap toward heel. Heel was fine. Came shipped in intact plastic bag. Shoe appeared stretched off of foot and was extremely buckling on her foot. The placement of her foot in the shoe did nothing to correct the huge gapping at the sides. We returned them with no problem and were satisfied with return process.

I am on my second pair of these shoes - both in black. The first pair wore really well, comfort wise. They never rubbed or pinched my feet. But after two months of wear, a strap popped lose from the "button" in the front. I didn't think anything of it and just glued it back together. Fine, but it happened to two other straps/buttons as well! I gave up and just bought another pair thinking that perhaps I just had a defective pair since there were such good reviews. Well the second pairs straps and buttons have stayed in tack, but I can barely stand to wear this pair due to them pinching my feet so badly where the straps cross over each other. It is so strange! They also created a HUGE blister on the back of an ankle - and maybe that was my fault for wearing them to go for a walk... but the first pair saw many miles without rubbing at all!? I just don't get it. I really want to love these shoes, but just can't seem to get the right pair for myself.
